Model-Driven Web Services Development
نویسندگان
چکیده
Web service technologies are becoming increasingly important for integrating systems and services. There is much activity and interest around standardization and usage of web service technologies. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the Model Driven Architecture (MDA)TM provide a framework that can be applied to web service development. This paper describes a modeldriven web service development process, where web service descriptions are imported into UML models; integrated into composite web services; and the new web service descriptions are exported. The main contributions of this paper are conversion rules between UML and web services described by Web Service Description Language (WSDL) documents and XML Schema.

The benefits of incorporating Semantic Web Services in web applications are well documented. However, both the real-world implementation and adoption of these services are still rather limited in practice. This is despite the promises that extend syntactic Web services with capabilities such as automatic service discovery, composition, and execution. Some of the barriers to the real-world imple...
متن کاملModel-driven development of Web Services and hypertext applications
This paper addresses the model-driven development of Web applications that integrate hypertextual navigation, content publishing and management, and interaction with remote Web Services. The proposed approach relies on an extension of the Web Modeling Language, a visual notation for the design of data-intensive Web applications, with primitives for capturing various forms of interaction with We...
متن کاملDomain Specific Language Approach on Model-driven Development of Web Services
As modern distributed and cloud architecture keep gaining their popularity, web services have become the programmatic backbones of more and more systems. Developing web services requires gathering information from different aspects. Model-driven engineering promises to ease the burden of development and promote reuse of web services by focusing more on a higher level of abstraction. Current app...
متن کاملCrucial Phases of Composite Web Service Development
Composite Web services are built as workflows made up of component Web services. WS-BPEL has become the de facto standard used for the development of above mentioned workflows. Apart from introducing main streamlines related to SOA architectures and WS-BPEL language, the paper identifies some crucial issues that must be solved during composite Web service development: granularity aggregated ins...
متن کاملModel-Driven Development of Non-Functional Properties in Web Services: An Aspect-Oriented Approach
For the last few years, model-driven architecture, aspect-oriented software development and Web service engineering have become widely accepted alternatives for tackling the design and building of complex distributed applications; however, each of them addresses the principle of separation of concerns from their own perspective. When combined appropriately, both model-driven and aspect-oriented...
